Happy New Year

As I reflect back through this last year....wow, it has been one with many ups and downs.

I am so fortunate to have a very loving husband, children, and two of the cutest grandsons on earth. We are so fortunate to live close to them to be a part of their lives.

I did a little traveling this year. In June, I joined a group of lovely ladies for 8 glorious days in Utah, touring, shopping, scrapbooking and just having fun.
In August, a few days before school started, Michelle, the boys and I drove to see Nana and Richard in Kentucky.
And, in December, I flew to Alabama to see Barb and Chuck and their lovely dream home on their 22 acres.

We received some shocking and unexpected news in March that my father had passed away from a heart attack at the Citrus Memorial Speedway. He died doing what he loved best. He was 2 months shy of 75 years old and racing was always his passion. It was so nice to see so many of his old racing buddies at his memorial. He would have been so proud to know that he had so many friends.

My dear friend Kate took ill after a fall the first of June and died 2 months later at the age of 92 years young. She was the sweetest, kindest, and most beautiful person that I have ever known and so proud to say that I knew her my entire life. She was my adopted grandmother.

This past Monday, my grandson's grandfather died, RIP Hubert Robinson.

Heaven has 3 more stars this year, we will miss you all.

We are truly looking forward to 2011. I finally convinced my mom and stepdad to sell their motorhome (Winter home) and buy a condo not far from us. They did and are happy as can be, and we look forward to sharing in their happines for years to come.

So as we say goodbye to 2010, I don't think I will make any resolutions this year, nor any word of the year. I just plan to take inventory of my life and move the more important things to the top of the list. Family, health, fun, friends, joy, happiness, and most of all LOVE. I love all of you and thank you for stopping by this year to see what's new and what I have to share.

God Bless you ALL...Happy New Year...Happy 2011!

Tinkerbell for a special girl

A former co-worker and friend ordered this bag for her daughter to use as a book bag. She was thrilled when she came to pick it up. That always makes me feel good :-)

A little of this and a little of that

Did you miss me? I apologize for being gone so long. I have been busy....I promise. I have been putting some things up in my ETSY store, the link is over to the side and you can always click on that.

Let's see. I made this really cute pink camo tote bag and guess what, it sold quick. But, I have more fabric and could make another just like it if you like.

Also, check out this cute pink lady bug tote bag. Adorable for anyone, but extra special for a diaper bag for that special baby girl.

Jill's Purses

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE these purses.

Jill picked out her own fabric and she sure did a nice job. These are big and roomy and ready for any destination.

The orange purse has a zipper closure and matching cell phone bag.

The green has a snap closure and matching cell phone bag.

Can't wait to see Jill this weekend and deliver her purses....hope you like them as much as I do :-)

Cathie's Cell phone purse

Another special order for one of my special friends :-)

Cathie wanted an extra long handle to wear over her shoulder.

Susie's Purse

I can't wait to deliver this purse to Susie this weekend. She brought me this fabric and wanted one of my purses made from it....but one inch wider and one inch taller...LOL That's the beauty of creating that special item just for YOU.

The purse has a zipper closure, outside pocket and tons of inside pockets......hope you like it Susie -)

PS: Credit card wallet to match.

Laptop bags

My idea all started when I was getting ready to go to Utah with the girls. I needed a bag for my 13" laptop and I couldn't find one that I liked or that wasn't $35.00.

Several of the girls saw my bag and love it, but mostly the handle feature. It makes it easy to pull out of your tote bag, rolling cart, etc.
Pictured are covers for the Netbook, 15" laptop and 17" laptop.

So I decided to get out my sketchpad, my tape measure, fabric that matched my bag and the idea was born.

Dance Costume Quilt

I just love making something useful from something in our closets, especially if they have great meaning to us. This quilt surely has loads of meaning to the person it was made for and also to me. I made the majority of these dance costumes over the years and was honored to be able to put them all together for a showcase or as we call then MEMORY QUILT.

And... what a perfect gift from her mom to her for her 30th birthday :-) I have been waiting to share the pictures with all of you until now...until the gift was received.

I hope that you loved it Jaimee :-)

Itty Bitty Mickey

Do you remember the Manatee Itty Bitty????? Several of you expressed how much you liked it and wondered if Itty Bitty could be Mickey-fied...LOL This is what I came up with today. I wish I had a little girl about now, but the little girl in me is in love with this one :-)

Itty Bitty Mickey is 6 x 6 x 2 inches, snap closure, and an inside pocket. The front is pieced from 4 different fabrics and then Mickey's head is embroidered....$20.00 - plus s/h

where did June go?

I am slowly getting rested and back up to full steam.

I was gone on a lovely vacation the middle of June with 17 of the nicest, craziest, wonderful gals on earth. I went with Hilltop Memories scrapbook gals to visit Utah for a week. We stayed in a beautiful 3 story lodge up in Cottonwood Canyon. Our week consisted of touring Salt Lake and surrounding cities, scrapbook factories and local stores, lots of good food, we hit 7 of the Diner's, Drive-in's and Dives and a few local restaurants as well. We took classes from 5 local teachers/designers and learned a LOT....we learned a clever way to make cards from envelopes, we learned to make fused glass jewelry, a pop-up book that is way clever and a paper mache fairy that is so darned cute. We went to two Farmer's markets that had great handmade items. I found a silver ring that was handmade by a local silversmith that actually had my initials made into the ring....how lucky was that?
The weather was absolutely wonderful while we were gone and we even had snow flurries one night.

I was a lucky gal to be able to spend my 57th birthday with all these wonderful gals. Lots of well wishes for my birthday, a beautiful bracelet from Kip and Jill and even chocolate cake and my favorite mint chocolate chip icecream.

We all could not believe how gorgeous all the flowers were every place we went. Poppies, Roses, Peonies, and a ton more.

One of the parts that made our trip so much fun was the fact that we were able to tour Utah all together in a bus with a hired driver, Eric and also Steve. They both made sure we were very comfortable, safe and put up with our constant temperature changes, our corny jokes, our desire to stop at any given second to take a picture and even answer each and every question we had regarding the area as well as religion or anything else.

This was a trip that I am sure I will remember the rest of my life. Thank you to Linda, Hilltop Memories and everyone else who made it happen.

Itty Bitty

Little girls want purses too :-)

Itty Bitty was made for Betty's granddaughter...she is 2 years old.

This little purse is just adorable.

I am sure her favorite little toy or book will be stashed inside.

The bag is 6" x 6" x 2", snap closure and inside pocket.

Weekend accomplishments

Got a few things accomplished this weekend.
The polka dot purse is for a customer that requested it to be all black/white. Additional ties can be purchased to match outfits, seasons or occassions. I also made her a matching eyeglass case.

The cell phone/camera bags are for the girls going to Utah. Oh what a trip that will be...more on that in a couple weeks.

And....lastly, I searched for a laptop sleeve that I liked and of course nothing struck my fancy....sooooo....I made one. It is padded and has a little handle that it can be carried by, but mostly makes it easy to pull out of the tote bag. The black flap has a velcro closure for quick and easy closing.

So other than a little slip and fall mishap....I am a clutz....that's it for the weekend at Teresa's Creations.

Have a great week :-)

In Memory of Pat

I had the pleasure of meeting this sweet lady a few times about a year ago.
She was very kind, very pretty and very much loved by her family.

I made this MEMORY QUILT for Pat's sister from some of her clothing to honor her life. We can tell a lot about a person by the clothes they wear and I can tell that Pat was a cheerful person inside and out. Double click on the picture to see the detail of the quilt.

Manatee

As I promised....a bright new day.

Check out this adorable Manatee tote bag. This particular one is sold, but I have just enough fabric to make one more. Thanks to my sister for sharing this treasure..she came across the fabric quite by accident.

The lining is a bright aqua that comes complete with the Teresa's Creations signature pockets and key fob.

coupon holder

Was working on my boredom tonight and like I said earlier....getting up out of the slump.....sooooooo....I made myself a "COUPON HOLDER".

It had to fill all MY needs and I think I like this one.....It has a velcro closure and now I am ready to go shopping :-)

Wallet

I made a wallet a few weeks ago and still need to work out a few kinks.......so, no they are not available for sale just yet.

I have been looking for a wallet with all the things that I wanted. It couldn't be really FAT, it had to zip, it had to have a change section that I could see the change, of course a place for credit cards, a place for my checkbook, and a place for cash. I think this fits the bill for everything I was looking for. Now to decide if I ever want to make another...LOL

I was told by a local sewing store that I should make up patterns and sell them. That was very flattering :-) Will ponder on it.

Throwing me a few curves..

Life is just that.....a few curves, a few fast balls... coming at me lately. My blog has been dedicated to my creations...but of late..."stuff" is cluttering my mind and stiffling my creative side.

Thank goodness for a loving husband, who listens to me rant, cry, complain...you name it.....he listens...sometimes makes comments, but mostly just listens. He breaks his back trying to help us clean out a lifetime of "stuff", drives an old broken vehicle what should have been 2 hours (7 hours) to home only to find out that same vehicle had 2 grenades on board....OMG. The bomb squad took them and blew them up at the landfill....... Just when we think things will settle down, more "stuff" pops up. My friend Jayne talked about "stuff" on her blog today.....and so "stuff" seems to be stuck in my mind and I borrowed your word today...hope you don't mind???...LOL

I have been in a slump for a few weeks.....but dang it....I am ready for this slump to be over.

I hereby declare this.....I AM TIRED OF STUFF DAY...and will be moving on....LOL

Tea Party ???

This is a little off the beaten path of my "creations"...but.....

I was taking a small break and looking out the window of my studio. I have a nice little garden view with a bird bath and a sweet little tea cup that I put seeds in for the birds and what do I see???? Mr. Snake has decided to join the Tea Party...YUCK! He has slithered away and now I am wondering where he has gone? I am not in to "surprise visits"..... I'm not going outside....EVER...LOL

Polka dots

I met with two very lovely ladies about a week ago (thank you Janie for bringing them to me). Aggie and Donna had so much fun picking out fabrics for their purses made especially for them.
The black/white polka dot purse is a very popular style and Donna liked it for herself, it has interchangeable ties to coordinate with seasons or outfits.

The pink dot and black stripe turned out so cute. It has a zip closure, cloth straps, a pocket on the outside and tons of pockets on the inside.
The stylish little black bag has a zip closure, a hint of lime green trim and lime green lining. It has one outside pocket and tons of pockets on the inside as well. I am sure Aggie will have a lot of fun with these bags.

These ladies also have complimentary accesories to match....sooooo happy that you liked your new bags :-)
