Manatee

As I promised....a bright new day.

Check out this adorable Manatee tote bag. This particular one is sold, but I have just enough fabric to make one more. Thanks to my sister for sharing this treasure..she came across the fabric quite by accident.

The lining is a bright aqua that comes complete with the Teresa's Creations signature pockets and key fob.

coupon holder

Was working on my boredom tonight and like I said earlier....getting up out of the slump.....sooooooo....I made myself a "COUPON HOLDER".

It had to fill all MY needs and I think I like this one.....It has a velcro closure and now I am ready to go shopping :-)

Wallet

I made a wallet a few weeks ago and still need to work out a few kinks.......so, no they are not available for sale just yet.

I have been looking for a wallet with all the things that I wanted. It couldn't be really FAT, it had to zip, it had to have a change section that I could see the change, of course a place for credit cards, a place for my checkbook, and a place for cash. I think this fits the bill for everything I was looking for. Now to decide if I ever want to make another...LOL

I was told by a local sewing store that I should make up patterns and sell them. That was very flattering :-) Will ponder on it.

Throwing me a few curves..

Life is just that.....a few curves, a few fast balls... coming at me lately. My blog has been dedicated to my creations...but of late..."stuff" is cluttering my mind and stiffling my creative side.

Thank goodness for a loving husband, who listens to me rant, cry, complain...you name it.....he listens...sometimes makes comments, but mostly just listens. He breaks his back trying to help us clean out a lifetime of "stuff", drives an old broken vehicle what should have been 2 hours (7 hours) to home only to find out that same vehicle had 2 grenades on board....OMG. The bomb squad took them and blew them up at the landfill....... Just when we think things will settle down, more "stuff" pops up. My friend Jayne talked about "stuff" on her blog today.....and so "stuff" seems to be stuck in my mind and I borrowed your word today...hope you don't mind???...LOL

I have been in a slump for a few weeks.....but dang it....I am ready for this slump to be over.

I hereby declare this.....I AM TIRED OF STUFF DAY...and will be moving on....LOL

Tea Party ???

This is a little off the beaten path of my "creations"...but.....

I was taking a small break and looking out the window of my studio. I have a nice little garden view with a bird bath and a sweet little tea cup that I put seeds in for the birds and what do I see???? Mr. Snake has decided to join the Tea Party...YUCK! He has slithered away and now I am wondering where he has gone? I am not in to "surprise visits"..... I'm not going outside....EVER...LOL

Polka dots

I met with two very lovely ladies about a week ago (thank you Janie for bringing them to me). Aggie and Donna had so much fun picking out fabrics for their purses made especially for them.
The black/white polka dot purse is a very popular style and Donna liked it for herself, it has interchangeable ties to coordinate with seasons or outfits.

The pink dot and black stripe turned out so cute. It has a zip closure, cloth straps, a pocket on the outside and tons of pockets on the inside.
The stylish little black bag has a zip closure, a hint of lime green trim and lime green lining. It has one outside pocket and tons of pockets on the inside as well. I am sure Aggie will have a lot of fun with these bags.

These ladies also have complimentary accesories to match....sooooo happy that you liked your new bags :-)

catching up

Another item to check off the "to do" list.
This is a GIANT tote that was ordered by one of my scrapbook buddies, Ginni....yes Ginni, don't faint...it is finally done :-)

Ginni has one of those stacking snaplock 12 x 12 containers and she wanted a tote to make carrying it to crops easier and also protect the corners.

Roses

Every now and then we need to be reminded to "take time to smell the roses".

We had a wonderful weekend...took some time out for us and some time out for family. Hope that you had a great weekend too.

I am working on some purses, accessories, and a quilt. Pictures to follow. There is always something going on in Teresa's Creations Studio.

Happy Monday and hope you have a wonderful week.

Purse for Sue

My friend Sue in New York is one patient lady. She ordered this purse from me before Christmas and said she wanted it for Spring. I figured I had plenty of time to get it done after the holidays, etc. Then family matters happened....I am finally back on track and Sue..I am so happy to say your cute purse is on it's way to you. :-)

Thank you for understanding.

Utah or Bust

I just looked at my last post and I am not doing too good at posting, am I? So Sorry.

Well...a few weeks ago (during dealing with my dad's affairs) I decided that life was short and I was going to join the Hilltop gang and go to Utah. We are leaving in June and will be staying at an awesome cabin in Big Cottonwood Canyon (Salt Lake City). From the pictures and all the planning....we are going to have a GREAT time. The itenerary is packed with sightseeing, visiting several scrapbook companies (BoBunny and SEI) and on and on. The group decided that they wanted matching totes for shopping and matching aprons for the classes. I am just thrilled that everyone liked them so much.

Buttlerly and Daisy Quilt

Just up in my ETSY store...check it out.

Dad

Has been a long time since I blogged...sorry.
Lots going on in our family and we are finally coming to terms with it all.

I did a bit of scrapbooking, made my sisters and myself a memory album (3 of them) to honor the memories of our dad....may he rest in peace.

The weather here is absolutely gorgeous, mid 70's during the daytime and everything is getting greener by the day.

The grandsons are off on Spring Break this week and I am sure we will have some "play time" several days.

I have been asked by so many of you if I have an ETSY store...well, I have finally taken the time to open one up. It takes a bit of time to take pictures of each item and load it into the store, so be patient. As of right now, I have two quilts listed and will be adding items daily. So....keep checking back from time to time.

Happy Sunday to you one and all and check back soon. I promise not to be gone so long the next time.

Recipe box

It's a cold day (for Florida's standards anyway) and I decided to stay in and PLAY today.
I am in a recipe swap with some of the ladies from Hilltop Memories and we are exchanging our favorite recipes each month. The album that I picked became stuffed fast with these yummy works of art (recipes).

I searched high and low to find a box to buy, but none were tall enough to fit my recipes. Soooooo......I set out to make my own.

I used two pieces of chipboard and started cutting the pieces...glued them all together and covered with some paper that I already had and VOILA.....
The box is 7" wide, 7" tall and 5" deep.
Can't wait to swap out our March recipes and put in my fun recipe box.

Supposed to be cold tomorrow too.....hmmmm...wonder what my project will be tomorrow??????

Stay warm...see you soon :-)

Nuttin' goin on

Well, nothing in the creative sewing department anyway.

My days seem to go by pretty fast. The last several days I have been working on a photo album that belonged to my grandmother. I took it out of it's old album (because it was a "peel and stick" and not acid free and totally ruining the pictures. While doing so, I scanned each and every one of them...all 205 and had reprints made of each. While mom was still here, we spent a couple hours identifying everyone and any little tidbit she might know about the event and wrote on the backs for my copies.
Now I am putting the pictures in a new album and writing below each picture for mom to take home with her.
Our future ancestors will not have to wonder if the picture was Alford, Dalford, Otho, Ada Nell, or Lila Mae......yes, those are some of the names of my aunts, uncles or cousins :-) Love all those old names and old photos.

I do have a few projects in the works and I will post some pictures in the very near future. We had a little taste of Spring the last couple of days and boy oh boy does that give me energy...can't wait to get out in the yard and plant some pretty flowers and clean up all the Winter debris.

Happy last week of February.....see you soon.

Lunch Bag and Memory pillow

That's an odd combination isn't it??? Lunch bag and Memory pillow :-)

The cute little lunch bag turned out really cute with the little dog print. It is lined with insulate and also plastic. The bottom is large enough to hold the Smart Ones frozen meals with a small salad on top. A little pocket on the back for your napkin and/or money, zip it up and you are ready for work or school. Cute as a button and designed especially for YOU. These run around $30.00.

The Memory pillow was made especially for a very SPECIAL lady who is celebrating her birthday today...Happy Birthday Nanny :-) It was made from her husband's ties. I am sure she will cherish the pillow. If you or anyone you know might be interested in turning Dad's or Grandpa's ties into this gorgeous pillow...let me know.

I am also accepting alterations. If you are in need or know anyone that is...send them my way.

This will be a fun week....having family in for dinner tonight, dinner with a friend later in the week, and some other fun stuff planned for the weekend. Make it a good one, I will check back soon :-)

Painting

Paint sure does lift your spirits and gives a room a new glow.

I decided about a week ago to repaint the hall bathroom (next to my studio). I had the green paint (so that was easy)...I had the white paint (so that was easy)....several days later, it is "almost" finished.....if I can ever get enough coats of paint on the accent table.
My vanity is oak and was stained natural. I grew very tired of it and when the granite was installed a couple years ago, it just never looked right with the oak but..... Hubby always made a frown when I said I wanted to paint it....did it anyway....LOL It looks so much better white and I am now wishing that I painted it 2 years ago.

New shower curtain, new door knob, hinges, window blind in the shower, new towels....I even embroidered our initial on the white ones :-)
Don't you just love the cool dress form hanging on the wall. It is about 3 ft. tall and I found it at....Home Goods.
I had this old antique table in the bathroom that was a dark mahogany stain and it is useful, just didn't much like the color. A freind suggested that I paint it. I wanted burgundy...but I tell you the paint dept. must have pushed the wrong button. It is not as MAGENTA as it started out, after 4 coats of paint it is getting closer to my intended color. Since it is an accent piece...the color is fine...besides it is growing on me (one or two more coats should do it)...LOL. The black wire dress form sitting on the floor will sit on the table once the paint is dry.
I painted an old GOLD mirror - black, painted the light fixture - black, painted a wall bracket - black. I had the best time with the paint :-)

Thought you might be interested in what has been keeping me busy the last week :-)

Hugs to you all,
Teresa

Old Man Winter

This is our family holiday picture for 2009....what a great family we have :-)

Boy has it been cold. I can't remember it being this cold in Florida for a very long time. I think I froze for about a week, good thing I don't live in the north....yes, I'm a wimp....lol. Finally hit warmer weather today and we were able to put all the potted plants back out. We are not sure of the damage in the yard just yet, but looks like we did pretty good. Maybe it is because of all of our trees.

Not much going on in the CREATIVE department the last couple of weeks. I did rearrange furniture in the family room if that counts????

Lots of ideas going through my head to redecorate my guest bathroom...I think there is painting of a vanity in my future :-)

Will check back in a day or so...maybe I will have some CREATIVE news for you then.

Happy New Year

Reflecting back on this past year...wow, seems like it was January 2009 only yesterday.

*I taught some sewing classes, took some sewing classes and made a ton of tote bags, purses and quilts for us and many other people.
*My husband joined me in the retirement ranks....that took some getting used to, but we are in the hang of it now.
*We moved our son and daughter to different homes.
*We had several yard sales because of all these moves :-)
*We have watched our grandsons grow another year older and all the funny things they say to us each and every day.
*We enjoyed family times....Mother's day with grandma Betty, the winter months with mom and Richard, the boys birthdays, weddings and births of friends.
*We finally got the New/Old truck (1957 Chev Pickup) out of the body shop and on the road.
*We went to Maggie Valley in October to see the beautiful leaves and visit friends.
*We celebrated the life of Great Grandma Betty who passed peacefully in December. We were surrounded by friends.....some we don't get to see all that much, but we know they are always there.

2009 is in our past and I will cherish the good memories...

I think I will use EXPLORE (investigate, discover and examine) as my word for 2010. With both of us being retired now, we plan to explore parts of Florida that we have never seen.

I would also like to take this time to thank you for visiting me here and showing an interest in what I have to share.

Thank you for all of your kind words & comments. You lift me up, you motivate me, YOU, my friends, inspire me.

A from-the-bottom-of-my-heart kind of thank you. For stopping by, for being there, for your support and for your genuine kindness.

Happy New Year...Happy 2010....may this year bring you health, wealth, friendship, peace and most of all LOVE.

Birthday Present

Okay...she just picked up the quilt. Michelle expressed a desire for the batik quilt about a year ago and even helped me pick some of the fabrics. I am sure she figured this was just one of those projects that would end up in my closet. I decided it should be for her birthday and I have worked on it for over a month, but feaverishly the last few days to finish it up.

She seemed so thrilled with the finished product, which makes it all worth it.

The picture on the left is of the front, and the back (on right) is just as cool.

Happy Birthday Michelle

Thirty one years ago today, I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl who has matured into a beautiful lady.

Happy Birthday Michelle.....we LOVE you.
