Black and White
How about a little trivia this morning???
Did you know that the first color television broadcast was by NBC in January of 1954?
Also, did you know that newspapers were only printed in black and white until the late 1970s?
So, my bags for today are dedicated to the more simple times that I remember as a child. If you were born in the 50's or 60's, what shows do you remember?
I Love Lucy, Dragnet, This is your life, Ed Sullivan, Gunsmoke, The Price is Right....do you remember any more?
Have a great weekend and very Happy Labor Day as we honor the social and economic achievements of the American worker.

Go Noles!!!
Okay, let's hear it for those Seminole fans. What do you think???
Cute little bag of GARNET AND GOLD that has a snap closure at the top or use it as an open bag (like I do).
I have a medium size bag in the works with the same fabrics.
Will post the medium Seminole bag in a day or so.
Can you believe how fast this week has gone? Can't believe tomorrow is Friday. We don't really have any plans for the weekend. How about you?
Enjoy!!!

Stripes
Yes, stripes were the order of the day. These two are really cute in "person" :-)
Both have a denim bottom and denim handles and both have nice roomy pockets inside... and a tab closure w/button.
It rained most of the day here yesterday, but today is sunny...humid....and hot. I don't mind the rain (actually my favorite time to sew), and I don't really mind the heat...it's the humidity that bothers me. But I love Florida and can't imagine living any place else. I am just thankful for air conditioning...It's hard for me to believe that we lived through this summer heat when I was a kid...even teenager...with no A/C. And my kids think they have it bad...LOL.
Hope you all have had a very restful weekend and enjoyed your family and friends.
Take care,
Teresa

First week of school
It was only a 3 day school week in Pinellas County due to the storm. We were lucky in our area this time. So sorry for all the clean-up the Eastcoast has right now. Hope Roz and Kelcey can get back to normal soon..... Thinking about you gals.
I volunteered on Monday night for the Open house and then for a couple hours on the first day of school. I am happy that I can help out..but it sure felt good to just walk out the door when I wanted to. Retirement is SWEET!!!!
On the Creative front.....I made a really cute jacket and will post a picture as soon as I can get someone to model it.
Teacher bags are really popular and this is another bag that I finished yesterday, actually made two...one is already sold.
I would like to say thank you to Helen for showing off her bag and telling everyone she sees where they can get one too....lol. Thanks...have a GREAT vacation.
Hope all of you have a FAB weekend...

What's new???
It's been a few days and it's because I have been sewing and scrapbooking and spending time with family and friends. :-)
On Saturday, Michelle (daughter) and I drove down to Sarasota for the Hilltop Crop. We had such a good time and as always, the food was yummy.
There was a nice crowd of people, nice to see familiar faces and also to meet new.
School was to start today in our county, but was canceled due to a storm heading our way. It ended up that Faye Fizzled out and was just a quiet day at home for students and school employees.
So, what are the new totes you have been sewing you ask??????
I have a school tote and a kitty one too, both are special order...but just so happens that I made two of each...so let me know if either tickles your fancy.
The Gator bags sure went over well. I had a special request for Michigan State and the Florida State Seminoles, too. Can't wait to get those made and posted for you all to see. :-)
Make today a creative one and enjoy whatever it is you are doing.
Take care,
Teresa

Go Gators
I sure have been busy this week....as you notice, I haven't posted since Sunday. Playing with Zak and entertaining him while his Mama is at school/work is exhausting...haha....I am just OLD....but we are enjoying the time and will remember our summer forever. Wait until you see the little book that Zak and I are making. We have a couple more pages to do, and then I will post to show you.
I have managed to sew a little here and there (mostly in the evenings) and here you go......GO GATORS. I am really liking how cute these are. The larger bag is one of two and was a special request for a friend to give away as a Christmas present. The bigger bag has a tab closure and the small bag has a snap to close (if you are using as a purse as some people have been doing).
Next up: A cute teacher bag and equal time for the SEMINOLES with a bag for you along with a bag made from some really cute pink fabric that I forgot that I had.
Make today a good one and be CREATIVE.
Hugs,
Teresa

Yard sales are fun
I just got home from a really great Yard Sale. This wasn't your run of the mill Yard Sale with old worn out clothes and dishes that you don't need....lol. It was SCRAPBOOK suppies....lots and lots of them. One of our local scrapbook stores (Whim so doodle) has Yard Sales a couple times a year and people can rent a table from them and clean out their closets of unwanted "treasures". I guess they are no longer treasures to them, but they are to those of us looking for a bargain.
I went with one of my friends and ran into about 8 more....scrapbooking people are just the nicest people.
I took my SCRAPPY TOTE to use as my shopping bag and believe me....I filled it up. I think I could have gotten a few more things in it though...those little bags sure do hold a lot. Check out the pictures...can you believe that all of that was in that bag??? Yep...
I have a few more available if you are interested...give me a holler....
I am working on a special request right now...a Florida Gators tote bag. It is turning out cute.....will post a pic when it is finished.

Teacher bag
Happy Saturday all,
Has been a busy week visiting with some wonderful friends and sharing some fun times with my grandsons. Monday is back to work for the teachers/staff and the students will go back to school on August 19th. I will have Zak next week and we have some fun planned which involves making a journal of his summer fun.
Today my hubby had to work, so I decided that I should work too...well, if you call this work....I call it fun. It was a little cloudy/rainy and that is my favorite time to sew. I finished up a red/white/blue tote, this one is what I call my "medium size". It has pockets inside along with a ring for your keys, and a tab w/ button to close the bag.
I also sewed up the teacher bag for my friend Lisa. Whatcha think Lisa? Lisa is a resource teacher and has to take her things from room to room and wanted a bag big enough to take with her (again my "medium size"). I think this one will be a fun one for her to use.....love those polka dots :-) The pocket on the outside is made from a really cute "school" print.
Not sure what I will cut out next....keep posted :-)
PS: Going to the yard sale at Whims tomorrow (local scrapbook shop). Hope to find lots of bargains.
Have a great weekend and enjoy yourself.......

Watermelon Quilt
This is a picture of the Watermelon Quilt that I finished up a few months ago. The quilt top was pieced together a couple years ago and I just put it in the closet and forgot about it.
In January, my neighbor and great friend, invited me to join her Monday Quilt day. So, I got the quilt out and started quilting. It took me about 2 months to quilt it as I didn't work on it all the time (you gotta stop and cook dinner every now and then...lol). Hand quilting takes a long time, but is so worth it in the long run.
I think there is a pattern kind of like this...but I made up my own pattern for this one....lol
Today, I got the rest of the Batik fabrics for the quilt I am making for my daughter...that is down the road for sure as I have 2 quilts ready to be quilted, and two more that are about 1/2 quilted each.
Will post more pictures of quilts in the future.
PS to all those asking about the TOTES....I got some more really neat fabrics today and will be sewing those in the next couple of weeks and post pictures as I get them done.
Happy Wednesday,
Teresa

Great Fun
This weekend sure was great fun. I went to a scrapbook crop sponsored by Hilltop Memories. What a great group of talented ladies. We were at the Kenilworth Lodge in Sebring, Florida.
I worked on the boys' (my grandsons) album and got 8 pages done. That isn't a lot compared to what some did, but for me.....that's good. I also tend to visit a lot...lol.
It was nice to get to know some of the ladies better and to meet new ones as well.
My roomie was so sweet. Melanie, it was so nice to get to know you and hope to see you again real soon.
Thanks again Linda for organizing such a wonderful weekend.
